Job Description
The Strategic Industry Account Executive - Manufacturing is responsible for building strategic relationships with existing and new partners and customers in the following Industries, including but not limited to: General Manufacturing; Automotive; Food and Beverage; and Pharmaceuticals. They develop a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer contact as well as through research of current and future business opportunities. The Strategic Industry Account Executive works with Marketing, Sales, and product development teams to deliver business development initiatives. Remote, hybrid and on-site opportunities are available for this role.

About the Role
The Strategic Industry Account Executive's job skills, qualifications, and responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Working with Director of Sales to set sales strategy and ensure targeted growth
- Creating short and long term business plans for these industries that includes:
- Researching 3rd party resources and company data sources to understand trends, capabilities, and solutions for these industries
- Outlining total addressable market and IA target market
- Defining Edge to Cloud customer needs and use cases
- Outlining existing product gaps, new product needs
- Identifying staff, integrator, distributor, and other partnering needs
- Directly managing and growing a subset of Industry Account and Integrator sales to meet Inductive Automation’s sales objectives
- Providing Sales Support and industry training to other sales team members with accounts and integrators in these industries
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Manufacturing Information Technology or related discipline is required
- 10+ years’ experience in technical Business Development/Sales
- Software industry experience required with products from companies like Inductive Automation, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Siemens and Aveva
- Global Experience with strategic sales, direct sales, and indirect sales
- Deep industry knowledge including solution architecture and the use cases for SCADA and IIoT software and its interaction with IT, OT and Cloud Systems. Also preferred cloud related application experience including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, MQTT
- Experience with both perpetual and SaaS/recurring revenue sales models
- Remote based but willing to travel to IA’s corporate office, customer locations and industry shows, both domestically and internationally

Pay
Based on the Sacramento region, the new hires minimum and maximum target salary for this role is $180k - $210k. There is also an incentive program tied to this position.
Inductive Automation’s ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Although it is not typical for an individual to start at the top end of the range for the position, compensation decisions are dependent on: the facts and circumstances of each case, work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs.
